This postcard was found by a local Lincolnville friend showing the cabins at Surprise Motor Court. Any guesses on the year of the car on the left?

I guess the camera wanted to watch the clouds, but if you look at the bottom you will see that the amazing signs designed by Kate at Geika and brought to life by Erick at Andersigns have been installed. We’ve gotten so many comments about how cool they look. Can’t wait to open up soon for guests.

Erick is hard at work creating the frontage signs for us. Throughout the logo design and sign creation process, we worked to incorporate the historic use of gold leaf similar to signs in New England dating back to the 1700s. Closely tied to the maritime trade it is said that these shining signs stood out in foggy conditions and conveyed trust and permanence to passing sailors and merchants. And well, that’s what we are hoping to bring to our guests as well.
I’m sorry what i said when it was winter. Spring is trying to establish itself here in midcoast Maine. I wish we could be open for visitors to see the spring bulbs but we all have to be patient and wait for the season opening. #comingsoon

The backstory is that we bought this classic coastal Maine cabin property to pursue the dream of working for ourselves and getting back that feeling we had while out cruising, meeting up nightly with friends (new and old) to chat about where everyone is from and what their plans are next. The bonus is that it had water for Wiley, our cattle dog, to cool himself in after an epic disk session.
